JASON GAUDETTEArstist
Jason Gaudette is a Chicago based artist, born and raised in Windsor Locks, Connecticut. He works with different medium which include painting, sculpture, and video to portray his expression of combining opposite elements into unity which he calls Zigzagism. Zigzagism is thought to illustrate the vast and contradicting lifestyle of the post-modern human being. Zigzags are meant to go further by going backwards. It borrows elements form early modern expressions in art such as distorted imagery and shattered outlines. The artist considers his invented genre to be "the invisible bridge between impressionism and cubism." Zigzagism shows the dramatic shifts of positive and negative moods a post-modern human conveys.
"If you hear a voice within it means you say 'you cannot paint,' then by all means paint, and that voice will be silent."— Vincent Van Gogh
